Frequently Asked Questions

The easiest way to begin services with Caring Hearts Home Care starts with a phone call to 515-283-8300. One of our caring and experienced staff members will be happy to talk with you and provide guidance. During this initial phone conversation we will answer your questions, gather information, and learn about you and/or your loved one's situation. At this time we will also be able to give you a price range of what we think the rate will be.

The next step in the process is to schedule a free in-home assessment where we will meet in person at the client's home. At this meeting we will continue to get to know each other, learn more about the level of care needed, answer questions, and determine the rate. Based on the information collected, we will develop a personalized Care Plan for you or your loved one that the caregivers will follow. 

When services begin, a member of the Caring Hearts Home Care staff will introduce the client to the caregiver(s), go over the expectations and routine with the caregivers, and make sure everything gets off to a great start. 

Caring Hearts Home Care asks for a minimum of 4 hours per scheduled visit. However, there are instances when we may be able to accommodate shorter visits if they coordinate well with a caregiver's availability. Please always reach out to us to discuss your scheduling needs. We strive to do our best to provide the help you are looking for. Caring Hearts Home Care does not require a minimum number of hours per week. 

Rates for Caring Hearts Home Care services are very comparable to other in-home care agencies in central Iowa. Several factors are used to determine the rate, including the level of care needed, and the length and frequency of scheduled visits. During the initial phone call, we will give a price range of what we believe the rate will be. In most cases, we are able to narrow that range down and determine what the specific rate will be during the free in-home assessment.

Yes, we do! Our office hours are 9am-5pm, Monday thru Friday. However, if you have a question or concern that requires attention outside of those hours, Caring Hearts Home Care staff is available to answer calls 24 hours per day, 7 days per week. We do not use an answering service; a member of our Caring Hearts team will always answer your call. 

One of our top priorities is for our clients and their caregiver(s) to build mutually positive and enjoyable relationships with each other. We are very proud of our caring, capable, and reliable team of caregivers who become a valued part of our clients' lives. If a client is dissatisfied with any aspect of care he/she is receiving, Caring Hearts Home Care will take steps to correct the situation as quickly as possible. If needed, this includes introducing a different caregiver to the client.
